UNKNOW BACTERIA LABORATORY REPORT

UNIDENTIFIED 36

Advantages

The purpose of this kind of lab was to identify two unknown bacterias from a mixed traditions. The reason for identification of unfamiliar bacteria was to help pupils recognize several bacteria through different biochemical tests and characteristics. This is very important in the medical field because identity of unknown bacteria will help treat someone by knowing the contributing way to obtain a disease. Likewise knowledge of different bacteria helped others make antibiotics applied today. This kind of lab was completed utilizing the methods discovered thus far in identification of bacteria.

Materials and Methods

A mixed traditions of two unknown bacterias was furnished by the instructor. The methods used for id of the two unknown bacterias were inside the laboratory manual by Doctor Floyd and Dr . Kennedy (1) except if otherwise noted. The first step that was used was a three ability method, defined in Research laboratory 4, on a Blood Center Infused/Trypticase Soy Agar plate to isolate the two unfamiliar bacteria. When the two bacteria were incubated, grown, and isolated we were holding each separately streaked over a Trypticase Me llaman Agar menu to separate individual colonies to be analyzed, tested and identified. Following incubation individuals TSA discs, the morphologies were seen and noted and a Gram stain was finished on each individual bacterium, which will be referred to as Bacterias #1 and Bacteria #2. After the Gram reaction was determined on Bacteria #1 and Bacterias #2, several biochemical checks were carried out according to the dichotomous keys supplied in the lab manual. All the tests had been performed by the methods discussed in the laboratory manual by Dr . Floyd and Doctor Kennedy (1). Table one particular and Table 2 list the tests performed, purpose, and effects. Also Stream Chart 1 and Stream Chart a couple of will show the results.
