Target Audiences and Stylistic Technique: Lynda Hurst Compared to Allan Hutchinson Essay

Lynda Hurst and Allan C. Hutchinson both have several thoughts about the topic of surrogates. Their content consist of stylistic techniques used to attract readers from two dissimilar viewers: Lynda's audience is described towards the person with average skills, where as Allan's audience targets a more higher educated target audience. Both creators use several types of diction, composition and thinking to capture all their intended viewers.

Lynda and Allan both make use of two distinctive choices of phrases in order to catch the attention of their different goal audiences. Lynda uses casual diction and also simple terminology in order to create an psychological appeal with her readers. Allan however uses intricate word selections that has an intellectual appeal to his audience. This kind of diction makes Allan's sculpt more informative, serious and impersonal. This individual does not hook up himself with the topic when he relies on laws and regulations and details of surrogates. An example of this is; "[a]lthough there was a powerful dissent, most of the law change commissioners maintained that, as being a matter of public policy, surrogacy ought to be permissible " (Hutchinson, Allan. 24). This appeals to his bigger educated audience as it is more intricate and has terminology that is more in depth. The audience would not truly feel threatened by simply his vocabulary and instead will enjoy its complexity. His use of phrase choice might not have as much appeal to the normal reader.
